Accessibility

HowdyGo displays your app by re-rendering its HTML exactly as it appeared when you captured it, preserving all page structure and accessibility information. Your demos and sandboxes therefore build on top of the work you’ve already done to make your app accessible, with HowdyGo’s own accessible guides and player controls layered on top.

Keyboard and screen-reader navigation

HowdyGo demos and sandboxes support keyboard and screen-reader navigation. Viewers can use the keyboard to navigate demos and sandboxes, including the following keyboard shortcuts that make demos operatable by external devices such as remote controls:

  • Previous step: Left Arrow or Page Up.
  • Next step: Right Arrow or Page Down.

Accessibility best practices when creating demos

  • Write descriptive guides that name the control and explain its purpose. For example, “Open Reports to review your team’s activity” gives viewers more context than “Click here.”
  • Pair voiceovers with text when a step needs more explanation. Use narration to add context, and keep the essential information in the written guide so viewers can follow with or without sound.
  • Choose brand colors with strong contrast between text, controls, and their backgrounds.
  • Explain important visuals. If a chart, image, or highlighted area is central to your demo, describe what it shows and why it matters in the accompanying guide.

Accessibility support

If an accessibility issue gets in the way, contact support@howdygo.com. We’ll investigate and work with you on fixes. A demo link, the affected step, and details of your browser or assistive technology help us reproduce the issue.

We also welcome accessibility questions during procurement. Share your requirements with our team so we can discuss your use case, demonstrate relevant capabilities, and help you evaluate HowdyGo for your organization.
