Edit UI Text

Open Howdy AI and choose Edit UI, or describe the text you want to change. Howdy AI can update captured labels, headings, names, metrics, input placeholders, and field values.

Replacing text

Include the current text, its replacement, and where the change should apply. For example:

Replace "Acme Ltd" with "Northstar" throughout this sandbox.

On the Billing screen, change the "Search invoices" placeholder to "Search by invoice number".

Howdy AI finds matching text and prepares a batch of replacements. With Ask before editing selected, expand the suggestion to review the original text, replacement text, and match counts, then click Accept or Decline.

If the same phrase appears in several places, identify the heading, row, or field you mean. Some screens share captured content, so check which screens the edit affects before accepting it.

Personalizing for a prospect

Ask Howdy AI to replace company names, sample records, or metrics with values suited to your prospect. Give it the exact values you want to use so the result stays consistent across the sandbox.

For a one-off prospect demo, duplicate the sandbox first to keep your original version. These edits change the saved text. To personalize the same sandbox for different viewers, use personalization variables.

Bulk edits from a file or list

Paste a list into the chat, or use the paperclip button to attach a .csv or .txt file. Supply a two-column find-and-replace mapping, or a list with instructions for how to transform each value.

For a list of names, you could ask:

Replace the names in this file with Customer 1, Customer 2, and so on, in the same order.

Howdy AI checks the source values against the captured text and reports values it cannot find. You can attach up to five files per conversation, each no larger than 512 KB. Each edit batch supports up to 100 find-and-replace entries; larger jobs are split into batches.

When text cannot be changed

Howdy AI edits text captured as part of the page. Text inside an image is not editable through a text replacement; use the image editor for image changes.

If a suggestion says it reached the page-result limit, narrow the request to specific screens and continue with the remaining matches. To remove an entire label, row, or card, ask Howdy AI to hide the element rather than replacing all its text with an empty value.
