Custom Domain

Custom Domain

HowdyGo gives you the option to serve your demos on your own domain instead of the default app.howdygo.com.

This allows you to present your demos under your own domain, such as demo.yourdomain.com, providing a branded experience for your users.

Setup

To set up a custom domain, you will need to change your DNS settings following these steps:

  1. Choose a name for your HowdyGo subdomain that doesn't conflict with any existing records. For example, most of our customers choose something like demo.yourdomain.com or tour.yourdomain.com.

  2. Create a DNS record with the following properties to point your subdomain to HowdyGo:

    PropertyValue
Record Nameyour-sub-domain.yourcompany.com (Replace your-sub-domain with your chosen subdomain, like demo, and yourcompany.com with your company's domain name)
    TypeCNAME
Valuecustom-domain.howdygo.com. (Certain DNS providers, including Google Cloud DNS and AWS Route 53, explicitly require a trailing dot (.) in FQDN configurations. When in doubt, append the trailing dot to avoid configuration errors)
  3. Once the DNS record is created, send the details of the record to our support team via email and we will confirm if any additional records need to be created.

  4. Allow up to 24 hours for us to set up the record on our side. We will notify you when the custom subdomain is ready to use.

That's it! You can now serve your HowdyGo demos on your own custom domain and provide a seamless branded experience to your users.
