Exporting GIFs and Videos

Exporting GIFs and Videos

HowdyGo makes it easy to export your interactive demos as GIFs and videos, allowing you to share product walkthroughs on social media, email, or internal documentation.

You can customize your exports to match your needs, including playback speed, cursor visibility, and highlight styles.

Export Options

When exporting a demo, you can choose from the following formats:

  • Email (.gif) – A minified looping GIF ideal for email campaigns.
  • Social/Web (.webm) – An HD looping video optimized for platforms like LinkedIn and X.
  • Raw (.mp4) – A full HD video suitable for all other use cases.

You can also select between optimized exports (smaller file sizes) or highest-quality exports for maximum clarity.

Customizing Your Exports

✏️ Annotations and Edits in Exports

The annotations and edits you apply in HowdyGo will be reflected in your exported GIFs and videos, ensuring that your interactive demo translates seamlessly to static formats.

  • Annotation Types – Your chosen annotation type, such as ripples for clicks, highlight boxes, or ripple boxes, will be included in the export.
  • HTML Edits – Any text changes or modifications made using the HTML editor will be preserved.
  • Blurs and Hides – Elements you’ve blurred or hidden will remain edited in the final export, ensuring sensitive or unnecessary content is removed.

These enhancements help you create high-quality exports that maintain the clarity and intent of your interactive demo.

⏱️ Auto-Progress Timing

Use Auto-Progress timing to set transition speeds between steps before exporting. This allows for smooth playback without needing manual clicks in the exported file.

🖱️ Cursor Style Selection

Choose how the cursor appears in your export:

  • Dynamic Cursor – Automatically switches between a pointer and hand cursor to indicate interactions.
  • Cursor Only – Displays a standard pointer cursor without changes.
  • No Cursor – Removes the cursor completely for a clean visual experience.
