Offline Demos

Offline demos allow you to save and present your interactive demos without an internet connection. This is especially useful in situations where connectivity is unreliable or unavailable — such as trade shows, conferences, client visits, or while travelling.

This feature is available on the Pro plan and above.

Why Use Offline Demos?

Large conferences and events often have unreliable Wi-Fi, and client offices may have restrictive network policies. With offline demos, you can ensure your demo runs flawlessly regardless of connectivity:

  1. Trade shows & conferences — Present demos on the exhibition floor without depending on venue Wi-Fi.
  2. Client visits — Deliver a reliable demo experience even in offices with restricted guest networks.
  3. Travel — Prepare your demos ahead of time and present them on the go — on planes, trains, or anywhere without a connection.
  4. Backup — Always have a working copy of your demo ready as a fallback, even when you expect to be online.

How to Save and Manage Offline Demos

Saving a demo for offline use

  1. Open the demo you want to make available offline in the HowdyGo editor.
  2. Open the share menu and select the offline tab.
  3. Click the Launch button.
  4. A new tab will open with a loading screen while your demo is prepared for offline use. Do not close this tab until the process completes.
  5. Once the download is complete, you can click through the interactive demo without needing an internet connection.

Make sure you keep the browser tab open while the demo is being prepared. Closing it early will cancel the offline save process.

Managing your offline demos

Once you’ve saved one or more demos for offline use, you can manage them when you are online:

  1. Select Manage in the offline menu.
  2. Here you’ll find all demos that have been previously saved for offline use.
  3. View or delete the demos from your local browser cache.

Offline demos are stored in your browser’s local storage. If you clear your browser data or switch browsers, you will need to re-save any demos you want to use offline.

Tips for Using Offline Demos

  • Save demos ahead of time — Don’t wait until you’re at the event. Download your demos while you still have a stable connection.
  • Test before presenting — After saving a demo offline, disconnect from the internet and verify it works as expected.
  • Use the same browser — Offline demos are tied to the browser they were saved in. Make sure you present from the same browser you used to download.
  • Keep demos up to date — If you make changes to a demo, re-save it for offline use to ensure the latest version is available.
