Sharing a Sandbox

The easiest way to share a HowdyGo sandbox is with a share link. Once you publish your sandbox, a share link is generated automatically and takes viewers directly to a fullscreen, interactive version of your sandbox.

Sandboxes are shared as links only and do not support embedding. If you need to embed a demo on a page, consider using a guided demo instead.

Use-cases

Share links are the simplest way to distribute a sandbox and work well for:

  1. Live sales calls — Send the link to a prospect before or during a call so they can follow along in their own browser.
  2. Post-call follow-ups — Include the sandbox link in a follow-up email so prospects can revisit the demo at their own pace.
  3. Internal team reviews — Share sandboxes with colleagues for feedback before sending them to prospects.
  4. Prospect self-service — Let prospects explore your product on their own through a realistic, interactive experience.
  5. Training & onboarding — Provide new team members with a hands-on walkthrough of your product.

Password Protection

Protect your sandbox with password authentication to control who can access it. Password protection adds an extra layer of security, ensuring only authorized viewers can see your sandbox.

Password protection is ideal for scenarios where you need to control access:

  1. Sensitive product demos — Protect unreleased features or confidential information.
  2. Internal team sharing — Keep sandboxes within your organization.
  3. Client-specific content — Ensure only specific clients can access their tailored sandbox.
  4. Beta testing — Limit access to select users during testing phases.
  5. Compliance requirements — Meet security standards for regulated industries.

When password protection is enabled, viewers will be prompted to enter the password before they can access your sandbox. HowdyGo will then create a secure session which will be stored against the user.

Custom URLs

You can configure your own domain on HowdyGo so that sandbox share pages are hosted on your own domain rather than HowdyGo’s. This means share links will look like https://demo.yourdomain.com/s/share/sandbox-id rather than https://app.howdygo.com/s/share/sandbox-id.
