Translate UI

Howdy AI can translate the editable text captured in your sandbox, including navigation labels, headings, input placeholders, and field values.

Open Howdy AI and click Translate UI. It asks which language to use. You can also include the language and scope in your first message.

Translating your sandbox

If you need to keep the original language version, duplicate the sandbox before translating.

Tell Howdy AI which language to use, any preferred terminology, and what should stay unchanged. For example:

Translate the UI throughout this sandbox into French. Keep the product name "Northstar" and all customer names in English.

Howdy AI prepares text replacements for review. With Ask before editing selected, check each batch and click Accept to apply it. For a larger sandbox, it may need several batches.

You can also translate a single screen by opening it and asking, “Translate the UI on this screen into German using formal Sie.” Check any notice that shared captured content affects other screens.

Checking the result

Preview the sandbox after translating. Review product terminology, longer labels, and buttons where the translated text may take more space. Ask Howdy AI to shorten or revise specific phrases where needed.

Text embedded in images is not included in UI translation. Use the image editor or replace the image when that content also needs to change.
