Suggest Chapters
Howdy AI can analyze your demo’s step flow and suggest how to organize it into chapters. Chapters help viewers navigate longer demos by grouping steps into labeled sections that appear in the chapter navigator.
How It Works
- Open Howdy AI and click Suggest chapters (or type something like “organize my demo into chapters”)
- Howdy AI reviews the step sequence, looking for natural breakpoints: page transitions, topic shifts, and changes in workflow
- It suggests chapter markers with titles and positions, presented as accept/decline previews
- Accept or decline each chapter suggestion individually
What Howdy AI Can Do with Chapters
Unlike step suggestions, Howdy AI can directly create and manage chapters:
- Create new chapters by placing a marker on a specific step with a title
- Rename existing chapters to better describe their content
- Remove chapters that are unnecessary or redundant
Each change appears as a preview. Nothing is applied until you accept it.
When to Use This
- After recording a demo with many steps that needs organization
- When you have added new steps and the existing chapter structure no longer fits
- When you want a second opinion on how to group your content
- After using Write Demo Content, which may also suggest chapters as part of the content pass
Tips
- Chapters work best for demos with 8 or more steps. Shorter demos usually do not need chapter navigation.
- Chapter titles should be concise. Howdy AI writes short titles, but you can ask it to adjust: “Make the chapter titles shorter” or “Use action verbs for chapter names.”
- Combine with structure review. Ask Howdy AI to improve your demo’s structure for broader feedback that includes chapter suggestions alongside pacing and flow recommendations.
