🖥️ SandboxesOffline Access

Offline Access

Offline access allows you to save and present your sandboxes without an internet connection. This is especially useful in situations where connectivity is unreliable or unavailable — such as trade shows, conferences, client visits, or while travelling.

This feature is available on the Pro plan and above.

Why Use Offline Access?

Large conferences and events often have unreliable Wi-Fi, and client offices may have restrictive network policies. With offline access, you can ensure your sandbox runs flawlessly regardless of connectivity:

  1. Trade shows & conferences — Present sandboxes on the exhibition floor without depending on venue Wi-Fi.
  2. Client visits — Deliver a reliable sandbox experience even in offices with restricted guest networks.
  3. Travel — Prepare your sandboxes ahead of time and present them on the go — on planes, trains, or anywhere without a connection.
  4. Backup — Always have a working copy of your sandbox ready as a fallback, even when you expect to be online.

How to Save and Manage Offline Sandboxes

Saving a sandbox for offline use

  1. Open the sandbox you want to make available offline in the HowdyGo editor.
  2. Open the share menu and select the offline tab.
  3. Click the Launch button.
  4. A new tab will open with a loading screen while your sandbox is prepared for offline use. Do not close this tab until the process completes.
  5. Once the download is complete, you can click through the interactive sandbox without needing an internet connection.

Make sure you keep the browser tab open while the sandbox is being prepared. Closing it early will cancel the offline save process.

Managing your offline sandboxes

Once you’ve saved one or more sandboxes for offline use, you can manage them when you are online:

  1. Select Manage in the offline menu.
  2. Here you’ll find all demos (including sandboxes) that have been previously saved for offline use.
  3. View or delete the demos from your local browser cache.

Offline sandboxes are stored in your browser’s local storage. If you clear your browser data or switch browsers, you will need to re-save any sandboxes you want to use offline.

Tips for Offline Access

  • Save sandboxes ahead of time — Don’t wait until you’re at the event. Download your sandboxes while you still have a stable connection.
  • Test before presenting — After saving a sandbox offline, disconnect from the internet and verify it works as expected.
  • Use the same browser — Offline sandboxes are tied to the browser they were saved in. Make sure you present from the same browser you used to download.
  • Keep sandboxes up to date — If you make changes to a sandbox, re-save it for offline use to ensure the latest version is available.
